Karen Pilkington

A busy mother, Karen is also a committed activist in the Village Hub, an initiative which covers the electoral wards of Devonport and Stoke. This works to encourage, develop and sustain a community support network in these areas, capitalising on their heritage of community in the past. Karen describes herself as a Community Builder within this community benefit society, and is a firm believer in the value and importance of grass roots action, because of its ability to ‘deliver the goods’ in a visible way. She is also a school governor, one of the Plymouth Octopus Project trustees, and a partner in Cornerstone Vision, a Plymouth-based publishing company, offering local charities and initiatives an affordable route to market their programmes and products.
