Mrs Edith Wilmot OBE, JP 

The wife of Dr Wilmot, a well-known and respected Plymouth medical practitioner, she was first appointed a JP on the Plymouth Bench in 1923. During WWI, she had been the local divisional secretary of the Red Cross, and subsequently took up the role of Assistant County Director, being awarded the OBE in 1919 for her wartime services. Being also a prominent Plymouth social activist both before and after the War, she worked closely with Nancy Astor amongst other prominent Plymouth women of the time.
