Sheila Snellgrove
A figure of significance in the Plymouth cultural arena, and a trained actress, she and her team founded the Barbican Theatre company in 1980, as a charity enterprise which could involve young people in ways that would let their voices be heard in ways that would support them, and have an impact on the community, on topics which are relevant to them. She has worked also for equality and fairness, serving on the Plymouth Fairness Commission, as well as being involved in the Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council.
